Network Engineering Director plans, designs, and develops all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Director directs network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Director keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. Usually is certified and has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Network Engineering Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Engineering Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Job Overview:

     

    Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls the operations of the Engineering, Maintenance, Security, Grounds, EOC and EM departments/areas.  Complete all duties and functions of the hospital Safety Officer.   Maintains compliance with applicable regulatory agency requirements, including; The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), State and Local agencies, The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), etc.   Manages staff and contractors to adequately to ensure and maintain the efficient and safe operation of all hospital buildings.   Plans, predicts, maintains and repairs building and equipment.   Utilizes energy management and tracking tools in order to maintain efficient utility operations.  Develops and manages operating and capital budgets.  Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

     

    General Responsibilities:

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years Directing / managing multiple departments with extensive experience in the Engineering/Maintenance field.

    • Broad knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical repairs and systems, utilities, grounds care and total building systems associated with the health care industry.
    • Must possess the ability to ready, analyze and interpret scientific, technical and mechanical schematics/blueprints.
    • Knowledge of Security departments and overall procedural functions.

    • Broad knowledge of safety and at least 7 years of serving as a Safety Officer in a healthcare setting.

    • Ability to evaluate facility problems and perform necessary repairs if needed.

    • Receives and evaluates safety deficiencies problems and failures. 
    • Knowledge of all fire protection codes and all accrediting agencies, JCAHO, AHCA, State & Local.
    • Broad knowledge of Emergency Management and overall procedural functions.
