Network Engineering Director plans, designs, and develops all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Director directs network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Director keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. Position Summary: The Network Equipment Specialist I position performs technical engineering work related to communications networks, develops plans, specifications, and inspection reports to ensure these items are complete, accurate, and in accordance with good engineering practice. This position is technically involved in the resolution of design and equipment issues that may include performing field investigations or inspections, preparation of detailed plans and specifications for electronics, building powering, HVAC, and associated equipment requirements, checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project.
