The role of the Inventory Planning Manager is to manage projects and activities to achieve optimal inventory performance to enable excellent customer service and to achieve target company objectives.
Primary Job Responsibilities
· Subject matter expert for inventory planning and purchasing software systems. Focal point for training and mentoring related to the inventory planning and purchasing systems for the purchasing team and other associates within the company.
· Key resources for troubleshooting and problem solving regarding the planning and purchasing software systems and related activities.
· Identify and Manage process improvement projects to achieve high performance for inventory availability and inventory days performance.
· Lead the inventory planning and purchasing system set up process for new branches and large updates for existing branch locations.
· Key resource for mass updates for the planning and purchasing systems.
· Drive completion of required planning or purchasing system enhancements through the internal IT team or the service team for software service provider(s).
· Manage and maintain the Auto Transfer Program including replenishment transfers and negative PIL (sold) transfers. Resolve any system issues that are impacting the transfer process.
· Assist purchasing with creating and maintaining the Procurement Path for buy-lines or items in the planning software
· Maintain inventory ranks in the planning system on a quarterly, using the defined process and item demand history.
· Maintain the ERP Forecast and Order Point update process
· Develop and distribute Key Performance Indicators and key reports related to inventory performance
· Ad hoc requests as needed
Required Experience and Skills
· Has managed full lifecycle analysis in multiple projects in the distribution and/or manufacturing industries
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
· Ability to quickly adapt or evolve in response to changing circumstances.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
