    Nature of the work: This position is part-time at 30 hours per week with potential to work remotely. Under the supervision of the Executive Director and the Elder Network Board, the Manager is responsible for the coordination of Elder Network programs in Winona County serving clients 55 and better and their caregivers. Programs include: Caregiver Respite program both paid Companion and volunteer, Caregiver support, Friendly Visitor, education programs, support groups and 1-1 coaching. Tasks include taking client referrals, conducts screenings and intakes of clients and matches clients to services; recruitment, training and supervision of Elder Network Companion staff and volunteers; actively networks in the community to promote Elder Network in Winona County. The Manager will work directly with clients, volunteers, the executive director, staff, public health nurses, other health care professionals, social services, and the general public to coordinate and deliver these programs to our clients.

    Examples of work: (Illustrative Only)

    • Conduct client intakes and home visits to set up services. Collect information on mental health, physical health, medications, past history, etc. using established intake form.
    • Coordinates and plans appropriate services and match staff or volunteers to client’s needs.
    • Recruits, interviews, hires, trains and supervises volunteers and Companions.
    • Manages Companion schedules and completes payroll paperwork accurately and to meet deadline.
    • Accurately collects, documents and maintains client and volunteer information as well as services provided in paper files, Exceed database, Xcel spread sheets for programming purposes and grant reporting.
    • Builds relationships in the community with other service providers, referral sources and community leaders to gain referrals and advance Elder Network's mission.
    • Compiles relevant and timely statistics /reports for the Executive Director
    • Assists with preparation of reports to the board and funding organizations as necessary
    • Conducts community presentations, outreach and promotional work with emphasis on rural, diverse and underserved populations.
    • Assists with ongoing in-service education of volunteers and Companions
    • Recruits and manages an advisory board to further the Elder Network mission and assist with relationship building in the community.
    • Assists Executive Director and Development Manager with information and support to assist with grant writing and fundraising.
    • Conducts Education classes and support groups solo or in tandem with another staff or volunteer such as Aging Mastery Program, Caregiver Coaching, Program to Encourage Active and Rewarding Lives for Seniors (PEARLS)
    • Works with the Elder Network team to share information, trouble shoot issues, develop and improve Elder Network services and ensure success for the organization as a whole

    Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

    • Knowledge of mental and physical health issues of older adults
    • Knowledge of group process
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and meaningful relationships with agency staff members, representatives of other agencies, clients, and the general public
    • Ability to apply previously acquired knowledge and skills to new situations
    • Ability to use supervision and guidance
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
    • Ability to work independently with strong decision making and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to assess needs and to supervise volunteers and paid Companions in client interactions
    • Ability to remain calm under pressure and problem solve in a timely manner to adapt to unexpected needs or changes in plans.
    • Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
    • Competence in Microsoft suite: Excel, Word and Outlook

    Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience:

    • Prefer degree in public health, social work, or other human services area or equivalent experience
    • Prefer experience with older adults
    • Prefer experience in program facilitation in large and small group settings
