    About the role:

    As an Accounts Receivable Representative at OpenRoad Transportation, Inc. (ORT), you will be responsible for accurately receiving and applying payments and credits to the correct customer account and invoice. You will also provide top-notch customer service to internal and external customers. This position requires attention to detail, great customer service, and a drive for success. Duties include receiving payment and posting amount to customer's account; preparing statements to credit department if customer fails to respond; and keeping records of collection and status of accounts.

    Responsibilities:

    • Answer inbound inquiries from our customers and brokers, and build relationships with customer accounting contacts
    • Apply payments received by check, ACH, credit card, and cash accurately with notes or information as needed
    • Apply credits accurately with information from customers or management
    • Collect deposits, payments, or fees
    • Verify credit applications for accuracy
    • Determine credit worthiness of future customers and extend appropriate credit based on credit reports
    • Ensure accurate set up of new customers within Apptivo, Revenova, and NetSuite (when appropriate)
    • Contact new customers to ensure proper setup
    • Settle payments with customers, keeping sales reps informed as needed
    • Strive to meet and exceed aging goals on a consistent basis
    • Frequently correspond with internal and external persons via telephone, email, and face-to-face
    • Attend and participate in departmental meetings
    • Negotiate financial arrangements
    • Sort mail
    • Call customers to verify payment status and help solve payment discrepancies

    Qualifications:

    • One year of accounts receivable experience preferred
    • Two years of customer service experience required
    • Proven ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
    • Able to problem-solve independently and collaboratively, depending on the situation
    • Must be detail oriented
    • Goal-driven
    • Basic typing and computer skills
    • Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Suite programs
    • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
    • Be able to follow written and oral instructions
    • Treat all persons (internal and external) with respect and kindness
    • Experience in using an adding machine, multi-line telephone, and standard office tools
