Accounts Receivable Representative

Position Overview:

Works directly with the insurance company, healthcare provider, and possibly the patient to get a claim processed and paid. Required to review and appeal all unpaid and denied claims. We use Advanced MD, Clinix, Nextech & MOD MED/EMA PM systems.

Essential Functions:

• Review, revise, and re-process every outstanding claim on aging report
• Monthly quota of 1,200 claims
• All reports must be worked by months’ end
• All correspondence must be worked daily
• Interface with providers, insurance companies and patients as needed.
• Knowledge of Medicare, managed care and commercial insurances.
• Maintain assigned AR over 90 day percentage as defined by the AR Supervisor
• Track and identify major trends with various insurance Carriers
• Report recurrent problems to A/R supervisor
• Collaborate with doctor’s office staff for required information to process or appeal claims
• Document account ledgers to include calls made, faxes completed, corrected claims sent, and accounts turned to patient responsibility
• Reduce claims in the over 90-day categories

Required experience:

• Medical Accounts Receivable - must have at least 2 years’ experience to be considered for this position
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding

Paid Time Off:

• Paid Time Off - earn 2 hours of PTO for every pay period that you work your complete schedule and you will have access to the PTO you have accrued after 90 days. You have the potential of earning 48 hours or 6 days of additional time off each year.

401k plan:

• Eligible after one year of service.
• DBA matches 25% match on your 401k contributions up to 6% of your salary.
• Employee vested in the plan at 20% per year of service.

All employees in the Accounts Receivable department work a scheduled shift of 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We pay you for 2–15-minute breaks and ask you to clock out for a 30-minute lunch break.

Our team wears scrubs and sneakers and we provide 2 sets of scrubs after you have worked with us for 90 days. You are welcome to wear the company t-shirt we provide with jeans on Thursdays & Fridays.
