Responsibilities

• Review and correct claims rejected for errors before submitting to the payer for reimbursement
• Receive EOBs, research causes for denials, and resubmit corrected claims
• Process all remittances (manual and electronic pay) and post to appropriate accounts
• Contact insurance companies regarding delinquent accounts
• Assist with generating daily, weekly, and monthly reports
• Stay informed of changes to systems from funding sources, Medicaid, and/or the State, and communicate the changes to proper departments
• Handle confidential information and abide by HIPAA laws and other medical policies
• Achieve maximum reimbursement for services provided
• Perform additional tasks related to billing as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma required, higher education preferred
• Minimum of 2 years billing experience preferred
• Ability to learn quickly
• Extreme attention to detail
• Ability to be productive without constant oversight
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Basic understanding of office software and machinery
