Position Overview:

As a Product Development Manager at The Islander Group, you will be pivotal in managing and expanding our new and existing product catalog. The right candidate must be creative and possess a solid understanding of Hawaii’s retail market. They must also be entrepreneurial, have a sense of adventure, and be willing to travel. We require a highly organized individual with great communication skills who can create and bring new products to market by managing projects, and meeting timelines. Someone who can lead our creative design team in dreaming up and developing new products, while refreshing and expanding our current product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of new and existing product development- create and manage new product development initiatives.

Organize and lead the design team in effective research & development of new products, and the refreshing of existing products, ensuring alignment with our company's vision and objectives.

Collaborate with the Procurement and Sales Teams to ensure the best supply chain sourcing and competitive market pricing of our products.

Continuously analyze market trends and competition to identify product growth opportunities.

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, retailers, and our category managers.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, advertising, or any other business-related field

Project Management certification/ experience

Excellent organizational skills, with an attention to detail; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; self-motivated and energetic

Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications; capable of creating visually and verbally engaging reports, presentations, and other pertinent materials.

A minimum of 5 years of retail or wholesale experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
