Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Adherence to the attendance and punctuality policies of Goodwill.
- Exhibit excellent customer service skills.
- Communicates with retail staff on status of equipment, product, and general information, as needed.
- Proficiency with GINM’s inventory management system.
- Prepares daily work and run schedules, determining types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required according to orders or specifications.
- Quality control of donations for distribution, including prudent handling of materials, receiving, inspecting and verification.
- Identification of secondary market merchandise and preparation for shipment or sale in the Outlet store.
- Maintains the day-to-day operations of the transportation department including managing and meeting team members and customer needs.
- Makes decisions on matters relating to the day-to-day operation within his/her defined work area.
- Effectively use the electronic inventory system to track and retrieve donated goods.
- Effectively use and manage the Vonigo system to track and coordinate local pickups.
- Effectively use and manage the Electronic Login Device (ELD) for CDL drivers.
- Coordinate the activities necessary to optimize the efficiency of all GINM programs including donation drives, special events and home pickups.
- Assures that the dock, warehouse, outside storage areas, compactor, shipping/receiving and waste disposal areas are maintained in a safe and orderly manner.
- Monitors the flow of donated materials by identifying items to be stored in the warehouse and items to be rotated from warehouse for shipment.
- Ensure efficient compactor operations and compactor pick up in a timely manner as to not interrupt the effective workflow.
- Train and supervises drivers and department staff in pick up, delivery and distribution, safety and customer service.
- Responsible for daily equipment inspections and preventive maintenance of equipment (compactor, baler, forklifts, trucks, semi-tractors, trailers, walking stackers, power jack, etc.). Additionally, ensures that equipment supplies are available (i.e. propane).
- Process paperwork/documentation in a timely manner, including packing slips, bills of lading, receiving, internal documents, control copies, daily equipment checklists and drivers logs, and equipment logs. Ensures that documentation is submitted to the appropriate departments, Operations Manager and Director.
- Responsible for assisting in training new employees, assigning and directing work, and assisting in performance evaluations.
- Responsible for the safety of all persons served and staff under his/her supervision.
- Implements CARF standards into all programs and follows professional ethics as set in the Code of Conduct/Business Ethics policy.
- Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
In conjunction with the Transportation Operations Manager, directly supervises the Transportation and Salvage Departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures and applicable statues and regulations per State or Federal laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; providing feedback and coaching; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problem.
Requirements
- Computer use and software – Microsoft Word, Excel.
- Basic Math Skills.
- Forklift – certification with 30 days of hire.
- Ability to safely use and operate two-wheel carts, flat carts, and pallet jacks.
- Ability to safely drive and maneuver box trucks and semi-tractors.
- Use and maintain compactor system.
- Read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Carry out instructions in verbal and written format.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively, bilingual a plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on concrete floors; use hands, fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; see, talk, and hear; lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift/carry 75 lbs and or push/pull up to 100 lbs with assistance. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands, arms, limb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl and smell. The noise level is moderate to loud. The environment is typical of a production / manufacturing / warehouse setting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception, distance vision and peripheral vision.

Must be able to drive, have a valid New Mexico Commercial Driver’s license, liability insurance, insurability under the agency insurance carrier, dependable vehicle and clean driving record. - High School diploma or equivalent.
- Three to five years supervisor experience in transportation/logistics related field.
- Possession of a CDL is required for this role, if you do not possess one, you must be willing and able to complete the required training and pass the testing to obtain one within 12 months of hire.
