The Night Supervisor ensures the smooth and safe operation of our facility during night time hours, Tuesday - Friday. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of guest services, and addressing any late-night concerns or emergencies that arise. The Night Supervisor is an essential member of our team, creating a safe, welcoming environment for veterans and families staying at Veterans Guest House (VGH).

The successful candidate will exhibit sound judgment and inspire trust. This position oversees guest behavior, ensures the safety of the house, responds to emergencies, and maintains a welcoming environment. In this role, you will be responsible for:

Safety and Security:

• Respond to emergency situations, including medical emergencies or security incidents.
• Enforce house rules and address any behavioral issues, following established protocols.
• Implement emergency procedures and protocols as needed.
• Mediate and resolve conflicts among guests.

Guest Services:

• Collaborate with medical partners to ensure a seamless experience for guests.
• Manage reservations and coordinate assistance as needed for guests requiring transportation, escort following procedures, or other identified need.
• Organize community-building activities or “fun nights” with local partners.
• Maintain accurate and organized records, incident/maintenance reports, and guest information.
• Respond to guest concerns or issues.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and relational databases.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
• Exceptional judgment and common sense in decision-making.
• Compassion, patience, and the ability to be firm when necessary.
• Discretion and the ability to manage confidential information.
• Ability to manage and respond to emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
• Property management experience or serving as an RA is a plus.
• Experience navigating VA medical systems is a plus, but not required.
• Prior military service is preferred.

Compensation:

• Hourly wage
• A furnished one-bedroom apartment with cable, internet and utilities included.
