• B.S. Degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program plus 10 - 14 years of direct experience required, or MA/MS with 10 – 13 years of experience in documented safety analysis.

• B.S. Degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program plus 20 years of direct experience with 10 years of DOE-specific experience required, or MA/MS Degree, plus 18 years of direct experience with 10 years of DOE-specific experience.

• Provide nuclear facility safety technical support services in accordance with 10 CFR 830 Subpart B and applicable standards such as DOE-STD-3009-94 and DOE-STD-1189-2008.
• Utilize demonstrated experience in the hazard identification, hazard screening, and hazard evaluation process.
• Perform accident and consequence analysis process.
• Assist with engineered and/or administrative controls credited for the prevention or mitigation of postulated accidents.
• Document the results of these processes in safety analysis reports, documented safety analyses, and technical safety requirements.
• Review processes, systems, and activities in nuclear/non-nuclear facilities to ensure associated safety equipment is designed to protect the health and safety of the public and co-located workers.
• Develop functional specifications for structures, systems, and components and establishes safety requirements for assigned systems.
• Evaluate the interrelationship of system safety requirements and other aspects of concept design and developments to ensure the most cost-effective program.
• Prepare and/or support Un-reviewed Safety Question Determinations (USQDs) and USQD Screens.
• Perform radiological and toxicological consequence analysis.
