Nuclear Medicine Technician provides diagnostic aid to physicians by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosages in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technician observes patients during procedures and reports any abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technician typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Requires registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology certification Board, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.), or the American Society of Clinical Pathology.     Job Summary: The Nuclear Med Technologist performs in vivo nuclear medicine procedures using tagged radionuclides. Doses patients with radiopharmaceuticals and pharmaceuticals as prescribed by the physician’s orders, and under the supervision of the radiologist “authorized user” in the Imaging Department. Completes quality control and quality assurance procedures as required by the hospital and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) license. Ensures complete and accurate data entry in the Hospital Information System (HIS) and Picture Archival and Communication System (PACS).

    Minimum Education and Experience:

    1. Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist with the ARRT or CNMT.
    2. Advance Registration in PET optional.
    3. Minimum of 1 year of experience as a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Clinical rotations in an accredited medical imaging program may be considered as experience.

    Shift: PRN/On-call. Coverage will vary depending on the needs of the department. We are open Monday- Friday from 0630 to 1700. Coverage may be needed for 8 hours or 10 hours and occasional on-call coverage.
