Nuclear Medicine Technologist jobs in Arkansas

Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in both diagnostic studies and therapeutic treatments. Creates and enhances diagnostic images using a variety of imaging equipment and tools. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technologist collects biologic specimens and prepares data for interpretation by physicians. Follows radiation safety guidelines and documents radiopharmaceutical usage for regulatory compliance. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technologist may require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically requires certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     The Nuclear Medicine Tech is responsible and accountable for providing quality imaging of patients to aid in the diagnosis and continuum of care of patients and assist Radiologist with exams. 

    JOB REQUIREMENTS
    Education: Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Program
    Experience: Minimum 1 year related experience as a Nuclear Medicine Tech
    Certifications: NMTCB, ARRT (N), State of Arkansas License, and current CPR 

    Safety Sensitive Designation:
    This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.
     
    Physical Demands:
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without accommodation.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following:  Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions. Ability to stand and walk, bend, squat and twist, and occasionally lift, push and pull up to 100 pounds with proper body mechanics.  Spend eight hours or more performing Sonography exams in the department, surgery, emergency department, and patient floors.   Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity.  Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure.
