Responsible for procuring, compounding, dispensing, and distributing radiopharmaceuticals. Being a Nuclear Pharmacist analyzes drugs for verification of identity and strength. Must have completed a program in nuclear pharmacy. Additionally, Nuclear Pharmacist may require an advanced degree of pharmacy. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Requires license to practice. Nuclear Pharmacist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. - Provides medication expertise and information that empowers patients and prescribers to make informed choices in medication therapy by: by using appropriate evidence-based medicine references to form recommendations to patients and providers; clearly communicating rationale around medication therapy selection; evaluating clinical appropriateness of medication therapy; staying current on clinical initiatives and priorities
- Ensure efficient and effective pharmacy process workflow and cash handling by: supervising pharmacy assistants, technicians, interns and externs in all aspects of daily pharmacy workflow including the appropriate processing and releasing of prescriptions and customer service; ensuring the proper and safe storage of medications and keep accurate records of such; having working knowledge and competency with cashiering processes and procedures; adhering to Kaiser Permanente Cash Security and Compliance standards
