Nurse Practitioner - Ambulatory Care works in collaboration with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to manage care for patients in an ambulatory care setting. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Ambulatory Care prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Assesses patient condition and may provide treatment using specialized medical equipment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Ambulatory Care works in outpatient settings, responding to high patient volumes in short-term spans and dealing with unpredictable situations and issues. Follows established guidelines and protocols. Requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN).     Responsibilities:

    - Conduct thorough patient assessments and complete extensive charting.
    - Review medical documentation and provide an expert medical opinion in regard to a disability.
    - Submit information gathered through an online portal for the VA to review as part of a compensation/pension claim.
    - Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.

    Requirements:

    - Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of [LOCATION]
    - MUST have 2 years valid NP/PA experience.

    - Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
    - Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the desired specialty area (e.g., Adult-Gerontology)
    - Proficiency in medical terminology and documentation/ charting practices.
    - Strong clinical skills with the ability to provide comprehensive evaluations.
    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    - Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team independently.
    - Prior experience in the VA settings is preferred but not required.

    -MUST be Board Certified.
