NURSE PRACTITIONER
The incumbent is a registered professional Nurse Practitioner who is responsible for providing professional nursing services that supplement and complement the professional nursing staff and the medical staff's delivery of patient care services. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in health sciences, nursing, or registered dietitian required.
1-2 years Previous acute care or medical/surgical experience preferred
Master’s degree in nursing or Nurse Practitioner program from an accredited School of Nursing. required
Licenses and Certifications
RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure.
Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state or jurisdiction of the facility seeking employment. Upon Hire required and NP - Nurse Practitioner – Licensed; Current license as a Nurse Practitioner in the state or jurisdiction of the facility seeking employment upon hire required or NPC - Certified Nurse Practitioner upon hire required or ACNP - AACN Acute Care Nurse Practitioner upon hire preferred.
BLS - Basic Life Support upon hire required.
Health ServicesACLS Advanced life support certification based on the patient population served (ie. ACLS, PALS) upon hire required.
