Nurse Practitioner - Oncology jobs in Arizona

Nurse Practitioner - Oncology works in collaboration with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to manage care for patients in an oncology setting. Provides quality care in all settings for cancer patients, families and staff. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Oncology orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Oncology assesses patient condition and may provide treatment using specialized medical equipment. Requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.     Responsibilities:
    In your job, you will have the ability to make a difference in a patient's journey by:



    • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for individual patients.
    • Initiate and document appropriate interventions; evaluate and record patient/family response within practice protocol; prescribe drug therapies per protocol/physician consultation.
    • Assist physicians and perform procedures as needed; conduct patient assessments and provide physician with information prior to seeing the patient.
    • Complete charge capture and medical record documentation timely and accurately
    • Facilitate education to staff, patients and family members.
    • Promote wellness and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
    • Provide case management for Urology clients and their families.
    • May supervise the activities of clinical nursing and support staff.
    • Travel required to local offices
    • Possibly Float to different locations


    This position allows all levels of experience.
    Qualifications:
    Minimum Qualifications:


    • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing education and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
    • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education.
    • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
    • Current state licensure as Nurse Practitioner.
