Surgery Scheduling/Records Job Description:- Familiarity with orthopedic surgery scheduling and Medical Records Invoicing and Fulfillment
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology-orthopedics is key.
- Schedule orthopedic surgeries at Advent Health, ORMC and Sand Lake Surgery Centers.
- Verify insurance info and surgery center and patient call backs and give surgery cost estimates
- A bilingual Spanish speaking applicant is helpful.
- Use insurance portals, Availity and Epic and Modernizing Medicine softwares.
- Prepare hospital portals or diagnostic images for Dr.'s review-both Advent Health and Orlando Regional Medical Centers.
- verify intake information and counsel about upcoming surgery.
- Attach documents to charts in the EMR system.
- Prepare paperwork for upcoming surgical patient visits and medical clearances when needed.
- Collect any surgery copays and deductibles for surgeries or related DME. Make sure patient attends surgery classes when needed and follows surgery preop and post op protocols.
- Assist patients with pharmaceuticals prescriptions or other orders if needed.
- Answer phones and call back patients and providers.
