Under the supervision of the Attending Physician, the Nurse Practitioner will exercise independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of medical processes and procedures in accordance with the nurse practitioner licensure regulations of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and as delineated in the written Scope of Practice/Protocol for Nurse Practitioner. He/she will communicate effectively and work collaboratively with others. This person will also be responsible for demonstrating respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines, and using an integrated approach to achieve desired patient outcomes. He or she will utilize evidenced-based standards, guidelines, and protocols for care delivery and incorporate data and information to continuously improve care and practice.
