Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric works in collaboration with physicians to manage care for patients in a pediatric setting. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.     Responsibilities:

    • Providing care according to the patient’s plan of care, be able to fully implement the five phases of the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) and observe professional standards of care in the home care setting.
    • Feeding tube maintenance
    • Respiratory monitoring, including close supervision of apnea monitor is necessary
    • Assure proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
    Requirements:

    • Current LPN or RN License in good standing
    • Certified CPR or BLS 
    • Proficiency in feeding tube maintenance and use is required
    • Three to five (3-5) years experience caring for neo-natal/peds is preferred but not necessary
    • Must be able to implement all five phases of nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation)
    • Must observe professional standards of care in the home setting under the supervision of the Director of Nursing
    • Licensed driver with insured and reliable automobile
    • Empathy for the needs of the client
    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English and communicate effectively
    • Ensures confidentiality and security of the client’s medical information.
    • Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client. Must be able to lift to 50 pounds
