Nurse Practitioner - Surgical jobs in New Jersey
Nurse Practitioner - Surgical works in collaboration with hospital physicians to manage care for patients in a surgical setting. Provides direct care and follow-up for patients in surgical care units. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Surgical orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Surgical requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. We are currently looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our team to cover sections of Essex County, NJ such as Oranges, Verona, Livingston, Short hills, Maplewood, Caldwell, & Roseland area.
The position would be responsible for ensuring delivery of high quality care practices in the treatment of symptoms and promoting the highest quality of life for homebound patients and their families.- Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
- Assesses, diagnoses and develops appropriate plan of care to treat homebound patients
- Monitors the patient’s condition and responsiveness to the treatment provided
- Acts as an agency representative with patients and their families as well as with other health agencies, groups and organizations
- Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies
- Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance
- Omission of specific duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position
- Master’s degree in Nursing required from an NLN accredited program
- Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in NJ with prescriptive authority; maintain a CDS and DEA
- National certification as an Adult or Geriatric Nurse Practitioner
- 2 years of APN experience and/or significant experience as a registered nurse
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills
