Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health works in collaboration with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to provide medical care and treatment in women's clinic setting. Provides care to women from adolescence through menopause, with a focus on reproduction and gynecology. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health assesses patient condition and may provide treatment using specialized medical equipment. Works in outpatient settings, responding to high patient volumes in short-term spans and dealing with unpredictable situations and issues. Follows established guidelines and protocols. Requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner specializes in providing healthcare to females across their lifespan; focusing on gynecologic and reproductive health, healthcare maintenance and prevention as well as general wellness. They will work under general supervision with the Gynecology physicians and healthcare team to provide professional nurse practitioner care to female patients. Specific experience in caring for general gynecologic conditions, perimenopause and menopause, pelvic floor disorders including incontinence and pelvic pain conditions is highly valued.
