Nursing Education Director leads and directs the overall planning, development, and administration of nursing education programs. Oversees the design and implementation of curriculums to train and update skills and knowledge of in-service nurses. Being a Nursing Education Director evaluates the department's performance and ensures that all federal and state regulatory requirements are met. Requires a master's degree in nursing. Additionally, Nursing Education Director requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to senior management. The Nursing Education Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Nursing Education Director typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.     Responsibilities:

    • Responsible to provide Clinical Supervision for all residents as “day supervisor”.
    • Responsible for all In-service Coordination/Educational needs of all departments. Will maintain in-service records.
    • Responsible for accident/unusual occurrence tracking/trending monitoring systems as assigned.
    • Assistant Director of Nursing with pressure sore and infection control monitoring.
    • Responsible for rounding on all facility residents at least twice a day.
    • Responsible for making schedules for nursing staff/CNA staff for all hours as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
    • Assist Director of Nursing in organizing and directing day-to-day functions.

    Qualifications:

    • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing and currently licensed by the State or in training to satisfactorily complete the requirements to become a Licensed Nurse.
    • BSN preferred.
    • Must be knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices and procedures and laws, regulations and guidelines governing long-term care.
    • Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other health care related facility is required.
