Nursing Education Director jobs in Spartanburg, SC
Nursing Education Director leads and directs the overall planning, development, and administration of nursing education programs. Oversees the design and implementation of curriculums to train and update skills and knowledge of in-service nurses. Being a Nursing Education Director evaluates the department's performance and ensures that all federal and state regulatory requirements are met. Requires a master's degree in nursing. Additionally, Nursing Education Director requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to senior management. The Nursing Education Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Nursing Education Director typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. The Director of Nursing (DON) will include maintaining standards of care in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures, current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern long-term care as well as attracting, developing and retaining top talent and supervising and training team members.
Required qualifications:
- RN license in good standing with the state of NC
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- At least 2 years of experience as Director of Nursing (DON) in long-term care
- Excellent communication, leadership and mentoring skills
- Ability to implement programs, policies and procedures that are necessary for providing quality care
