The Unit Clerk is responsible for clerical, receptionist; communication and office supply procurement duties on the nursing units. Will perform Nursing Assistant/Patient Care duties as directed. Functioning within ACMC’s mission, values, objectives, and policies and procedures the Unit Secretary/Nursing Assistant functions as a partner and works with his/her team partner(s) and the Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care In addition, the US/NA communicates appropriately with patients, visitors, and personnel, and performs clerical tasks as requested. The US/NA performs a variety of basic Population-specific duties to assist in the care of the patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN). All clinical care will be done under the direction of the RN who has determined appropriate tasks for delegation.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Medical Terminology preferred
- Basic computer experience required. Knowledge of Windows-based software packages.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent customer satisfaction skills.
- Organized, accurate, detail oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet demands.
- Ability to problem solve and work independently.
- Excellent telephone etiquette skills.
Required Length and Type of Experience
- Office or Medical Assistant training preferred.
Required Licensure or Certification
- BLS Required to be obtained during orientation.
