We are looking to add an Automation Analyst to join our Information Technology team in Waukee, IA. Candidates thrive in our environment when they harness their collaborative mindset, strong interpersonal communication skills, and a love of learning.
The Automation Analyst is a “change enabler”, with continuous focus on identifying opportunities and accelerating the implementation of automation across the organization by creating process and solution definition documents, formulating requirements, and testing automations.
Duties:
- Automation Process Analysis:
- Analyze existing process to identify opportunities for automation.
- Understanding of workflow, dependencies, pain points, and areas for improvement.
- Facilitate discussion to document the as-is process and to-be process.
- Gather Business Requirements:
- Elicit:
- Assist project managers in their efforts to identify all key stakeholders
- Able to lead requirements sessions, which include stakeholders at various levels in the organization.
- Facilitate discussions surrounding prioritization of requirements.
- Ability to model processes, process modeling, creation of other visual models,
- Business rule capture, data dictionary / terminology maintenance, and capturing user acceptance criteria.
- Expert ability to drive action on requirements in an agile or waterfall environment or generate business-level requirements from existing documentation, including system specification documentation.
- Ability to have an intuitive thought process to ask the right leading questions during business requirements elicitation.
- Translate:
- Translate business requirements into back to stakeholders in an easily digestible format
- Expert ability to serve as a liaison between end users and software development teams, including functioning as a subject matter expert (SME) in translating requirements to business systems analysts or software development teams.
- Communicate:
- Produce clear, organized, professional communications and documentation in alignment with organizational standards.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with cross-functional teams between business departments, and from strategy and planning to implementation.
- Coordinate & Assist in User Testing, if needed.
- Coordinate and track user acceptance testing (UAT) activities.
- Document UAT acceptance criteria and assist in draft testing plans.
- Assist in performing user testing to ensure the development of deliverables meets requirements.
- Assist in the management and tracking of UAT defects and coordination of remediation efforts.
- Automation Focus:
- Assist with creating company’s automation roadmap.
- Engage with stakeholders and conduct high-level assessments to identify business processes with automation potential.
- Assist with operationalizing phases of automation (discovery, design, development, deployment, monitoring and maintenance)
- Documenting as-is and to-be process and keystrokes in a Process Definition Document.
- Define the business requirements and test case scenarios for future state, automation processes.
- Partner with Automation Team to create the implementation plan, such as a Solution Design Document.
- Work closely with the Automation Team and the Business Team to facilitate User Acceptance Testing and sign off.
- Work closely with Automation Team during workflow testing and deployment to create knowledge transfer documentation used later in the automation lifecycle.
- Stay up to date with the latest RPA trends, standard methodologies, and new technologies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) due to interaction with employees at all levels and need for accuracy in role. Ability to elicit clarity.
- Ability to effective work with project team members and stakeholder’s others across the company to achieve a common goal.
- Ability to acquire knowledge of organizational methods and business acumen.
- Understanding of Agile, Waterfall & LEAN methodologies. Knowledge of System Development Life Cycle framework.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/duties simultaneously. Capable of working on multiple projects.
- Strong facilitation skills. Ability to run an effective and efficient meeting.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Knowledge of robotic process automation (RPA) and business automation. Familiar with Automation Implementation Methodology. Basic knowledge of how automations are developed with the automation tools, such as UiPath and Power Automate.
- Ability and willingness to pursue relevant designations and/or continuing education, as appropriate.
- Must be knowledgeable of and comply with HMA's Client Privacy Policy, HIPAA regulations and E&O procedures and policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related area or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- A minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience managing business requirements, including at least 3 years of managing large complex requirements initiatives.
- Expertise utilizing AGILE and LEAN methodologies required. Six Sigma or RPA background is a plus.
