  • Duties

    Performs a wide range of clerical and administrative responsibilities including but not limited to, receiving telephone callers, visitors, complaints and outside contacts and directs them to appropriate contacts when necessary. Receives and delivers messages to staff members. Arranges meetings and maintains appointment calendars for staff. Routes incoming mail to staff and work sections. Assists customers, files routine documents, compiles data and performs other routine clerical tasks. Maintains official files.

    Operates a personal computer (PC) and peripheral equipment to produce a variety of civilian and military correspondence, spreadsheets, charts, reports and graphs, using a wide variety of software programs. Transmits and receives documents and messages electronically using PC network or links to other computers. Proofreads prepared correspondence and checks for completeness and conformance to applicable instructions and regulations. Collects, compiles and organizes information and data to meet administrative requirements. May serve on a variety of advisory committees.

    May assist in developing internal policies, procedures and work methods affecting administrative management operations. Provides assistance in ensuring compliance by managers and supervisors by reviewing and revising studies, reports, correspondence for accuracy and format.

    Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.

    Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

    Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

    Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Minimum two years of experience in the operation of a personal computer and related office equipment. Knowledge of a variety of integrated software programs to include Microsoft Office. Knowledge of general clerical procedures. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required. Must possess a valid driver¿s license. .
