The Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) seeks to fill Beginning Educator Support Team (BEST) - Program Specialist 2. This full-time position is based in Olympia, Washington. This position may be eligible for partial to near full-time telework after a period of in-agency onboarding into the role. Position Overview
This position is housed in the Educator Effectiveness Department which provides leadership, guidance and resource development for the Beginning Educator Support Team program (BEST) and the Teacher and Principal Evaluation Program (TPEP). This position will report to the Assistant Director in BEST and supports the work of the BEST program staff. This position will provide support for the BEST program through support and coordination for BEST mentoring program offerings and coordinating services and resources with contractors. This position serves as a program liaison between BEST mentoring and external stakeholders and supports contracting, invoicing and providing clerical and administrative level communication that help facilitate the work in BEST. This position anticipates, manages, and provides complex technical support through timely communication, navigating multiple platforms and collecting, compiling and organizing information.
Key Responsibilities

Manage logistics, planning and support for BEST events.

Organize and maintain data and records for BEST events and program retention.

Support BEST fiscal activities through contractor invoicing and tracking expenditures.

Communicate with contractors and external stakeholders about the BEST program and events.
Provide general program support for the BEST program through communication, correspondence, calendaring and purchasing for the program.
Providing division support as requested
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
OR
-
Four years equivalent professional experience in office/clerical, secretarial, or general administrative work
A combination of education and related professional work experience may be considered year for year.
Desired Qualifications:

Experience with Office 365 tools used by OSPI

Experience with learning and using a variety of software and platforms

Experience with using Microsoft Excel

Compensation
The annual compensation for the position is $42,444 - $56,676 per year and depends upon experience, educational background and qualifications. Geographic differentials may be applied based on work location of successful candidate. Washington State offers a generous benefit package including health, dental and life insurance, retirement and an optional deferred compensation program.
