SUMMARY: Performs data entry, entry level bookkeeping and accounting support for the Oil and Gas Department by proactively ensuring timely and accurate processing of client information in accordance with Firm policies by performing the following duties.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures timely and accurate processing of revenue check stub information, accounts payable information, and related accounting entries into the Oil and Gas accounting system; proactively processes all transactions in accordance with Firm policies.
• Reviews data for accuracy.
• Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving payments and processing, verifying and reconciling invoices.  
• Receives, reviews, and enters client invoices in accordance with policy guidelines. 
• Researches and resolves discrepancies.   
• Maintains records and analyzes collections, updates and summarizes payables. 
• Reviews correspondence submitted by clients and make necessary adjustments/notifications. 
• Coordinates project status with other associates.  
• Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time, at a reasonable pace.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or GED required. One to three years’ experience in performing administrative tasks; experience with accounts receivable and accounts payable and general ledger preferred.  

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of the Internet, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, office equipment, computer hardware and peripheral devices. Ability to learn Firm Oil & Gas accounting software. QuickBooks experience a plus, including experience in other accounting software brands/types.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk or use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
