Oncology Services Director plans and directs all aspects of an organization's oncology services policies, standards, and programs. Responsible for strategic clinical relationships with physicians and interns. Being an Oncology Services Director ensures oncology clinical programs are in compliance with all applicable regulations. Researches and studies current medical publications and data on new treatments and practices to ensure high quality clinical service offerings. Additionally, Oncology Services Director advises non-medical management on clinical and patient related matters and policies. Requires a MD. Typically reports to top management. The Oncology Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Oncology Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Patient Service Coordinator at our Rose Medical Center campus location. This position offers both Front Office and Back Office responsibilities.

Whether we are a nurse holding our patient's hand, or a scheduler on the phone finding an appointment that fits into a patient's schedule, we are deeply connected to our patients and do what we can to help.

    Responsibilities:
    • Schedules follow-up appointments in the practice management system following the provider order and/or office protocol in a clinic setting.
    • Cancels/reschedules appointments according to patient or physician scheduling changes; notifies appropriate clinic personnel.
    • Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/practice.
    • Follows policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office. Covers for other front office functions as requested.
    • May schedule outpatient appointments/testing and hospital admissions upon request. May obtain necessary authorization and pre-certification as required.
    • May communicate to patient about tests being scheduled and potential prep work needed, inquiring about test specifics from necessary parties and gathering patient information as needed
    • Medical Records duties such as: Scan and attach, Pull charts for scheduled appointments, print, email, and/or fax patient chart information
    • Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
    • Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
    • Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed. Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.

    Salary Range: $18.29-$23.00

    Qualifications:
    • At least two years front medical office experience
    • Experience working in a practice management system with insurance forms and appointment scheduling preferred
    • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Must be comfortable communicating with medical professionals as an integral part of the care team
    • High level organization, attention to detail and prioritizing required
    • Electronic Medical Record and or Practice Software Proficiency required
    • Successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of hire
    • Adapts to daily work challenges confidently
    • Is willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, demonstrates flexibility
    • "Work efficiently to achieve high performance standards"
    • Work history reflects quality delivery of service
    • High School diploma or equivalent required

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be present at the employee site during regularly scheduled business hours and regularly required to sit or stand and talk or hear. The position requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. The position requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. The employee occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. The position requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
