We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as an Operating Room Nurse at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, NC and associated branch medical clinics. As an Operating Room Nurse, you will provide exceptional direct support and deliver professional nursing care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner. This is an opportunity to utilize your expertise in perioperative nursing and make a significant impact on patient outcomes.Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, deliver, direct, and coordinate Perioperative, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Ambulatory Procedure Unit (APU) nursing care using scientific and professional principles.
- Conduct pre-admission assessments, confirm scheduled surgery dates and procedures, and ensure compliance with instructions.
- Collaborate with surgeons to ensure the availability of necessary instruments, sutures, and equipment for procedures.
- Serve as a circulatory nurse during surgical procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques, accurate sponge counts, and adequate supplies.
- Perform duties as a scrub nurse and monitor patients under local infiltration and block anesthesia.
- Monitor and control the environment, ensuring adherence to sanitation policies and procedures.
- Administer medications, provide emergency medical/surgical treatment, and offer patient and family education.
- Assist in the training and orientation of new staff members or nursing students.
Qualifications:- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university (ACEN/CCNE) or a graduate from a State Board of Nursing or accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of one year of full-time experience in the last 3 years as a Perioperative RN in a Main Operating Room.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Working Hours:- You will be expected to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 0645 to 2300, with an 8.5-hour shift including an uncompensated 30-minute meal break.
