Our Operating Room Business Supervisor is great for those who still want to be in-touch with nursing, but to develop and enhance upon their already business-operation skills.
A qualified candidate, under the guidance of the Perioperative Director, who assists in oversight of the day-to-day business operations of the department, which include but are not limited to:
Updating physician preference cards,
Assisting with implant and supply ordering in the department,
Assists with bringing new supply to the facility and ensures contract pricing in collaboration with Materiels Management,
Coordinates with vendor partners and ensures vendor partners follow CVMC policy and procedures,
Ensures that timely charge reconciliation takes place,
Supervises the day-to-day technical work of the Perioperative Techs and the OR Assistants, and
Provides feedback on performance to employees.
The incumbent has formal authoritative power, and is responsible and accountable to the needs of the department. The incumbent ensures the delivery of safe and cost-effective care through responsible utilization of resources, delegation and effective communication in their unit and throughout the hospital system. Supports the staff and other clinical leaders in the department. Provides some direct patient care (scrubs on cases).
BASIC KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
Must have experience Surgical Services operational oversight, including revenue cycle and project management functions. Registered Nurse, Certified Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 3 years' experience in the operating room environment preferred. Would consider Certified Scrub Tech with similar years of experience and/or background. Bachelor's Degree in nursing, health or business administration is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and Excel spreadsheet is required.
