SUMMARY: The Ops Communications Clerk is a member of the Operations team responsible for supporting Drivers and Warehouse personnel in achieving our mission: To ensure drivers are safe, and able to deliver reliable, on-time service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- DRIVERS
- Ensures drivers have all necessary equipment to leave on routes or when returning from routes
- Monitors weather and traffic conditions throughout delivery area for optimal safety
- Assists with breakdowns and other needs
- Handles phone calls at odd hours in emergency situations
- Provides efficient and effective Driver communication
- Helps to ensure appropriate number of Drivers are available for Diaz Foods operations to run efficiently
- Helps to tracks Drivers in route including, departures and arrivals
- Provides information as needed for distribution meetings
- Maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with all DOT, OSHA, and FMCSA regulations
- Help reinforce equipment care by communicating the importance of pre-trips & post-trips to stay on top of issues
- Process payroll and expense reports
- COMMUNICATION
- Maintains effective communication with Drivers, customers and other departments to create an effective work environment
- Ensures that all applicable parties are informed of adjustments to routes, etc.
- Work with Sales and Purchasing departments for special delivery needs
