We are currently seeking an Internal Control Testing Lead to help lead and mature our first line of defense information technology (IT) internal control testing function and serve as a subject matter expert and trusted partner to technology and cybersecurity leadership in helping them assess and improve their controls. This role will play a critical part in maturing the control testing team and ensuring that testing of IT controls is performed in alignment with industry best practices.

To be successful as the Internal Control Testing Lead, it is important that you have strong IT control testing experience or strong directly related experience in IT or cybersecurity domains. Your ability to evaluate the design and operation of IT controls and direct the work of other IT control testers are critical success factors. Responsibilities:

• Serve as the IT control testing subject matter expert and oversee the testing of IT controls.

• Coach and oversee the work of other IT control testers.

• Assist IT control testers with technical testing matters and escalations.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with IT management and foster a collaborative environment.

• Develop test plans for IT controls using industry accepted testing methodologies to assess control design and determine effectiveness.

• Ensure that controls and testing methods align with established industry frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, COBIT, FFIEC, PCI).

• Identify opportunities for improving IT controls; and work with management and control owners to address needed improvements.

• Lead internal testing improvement initiatives and other ad hoc projects.

• Develop testing reports for leadership and executive committees.

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 4 years of experience interacting with management in the context of IT audit or IT controls testing programs.

• 8 years of experience in IT audit, IT risk management, IT controls testing or directly related experience.

• Demonstrated results in designing and performing IT control tests and executing against high-profile initiatives.

• Experience developing and presenting testing reports for leadership.

• Experience leading large-scale control and testing initiatives.

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, information security, business, accounting or a related field.

• A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements.

Experience that is a plus:

• Certified Information Systems Audit (CISA) or Certified Risk & Information Systems Control (CRISC) Certifications.

• Experience using the RSA Archer IT controls testing application.

• Experience using ServiceNow.

• Testing-related experience within a large financial institution.

Location:

This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
