Duties

• Conducts comprehensive plant pathology research on major sugar beet pathogen biology.
• Investigates the genetic/genomic variation contributing to virulence/severity, molecular interaction with specific modes of host plant resistance.
• Evaluates pathogen evolution contributing to resistance-breaking and chemical control escape.
• Conducts field research to improve disease phenotyping with basic molecular genetics and functional genomic research on major sugar beet pathogens.
