  • Job Summary:
    We are seeking skilled Operators to join team at our ABQ, NM Station. Operators will assist in deploying, maintaining, and retrieving our rapid response water delivery modules to active wildfires or areas to be effected by wildfire activity throughout the country.

    Compensation Information:

    • $26.48 - $45 per hour depending on experience

    Requirements:

    • Remain physically and mentally prepared.
    • Complete the "Pack Test (WCFT)," additional wildland fire training is required and will be provided by WWS.
    • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
    • Must be able to walk, stand, crouch as physically necessary.
    • Experience in Wildland Firefighting, Forestry, Energy Industry, Agricultural, Industrial, or Construction Industries.
    • Willingness to travel for long-periods of time to areas across the United States.
    • Must possess sufficient organizational and time management skills.
    • Must be detail oriented due to the necessity of safety in hazardous work environment.
    • Must possess sufficient oral and written communications skills.
    • Understand the importance of working with and relying on a team.
    • Maintain a professional appearance.
    • Maintain a professional and positive attitude.

    Preferred but not Required:

    • Previous experience working in the Wildfire Industry.
    • Experience operating heavy machinery.
    • CDL with or without airbrakes.
    • Knowledge of equipment and engine mechanics.

    Essential job duties and functions include, but are not limited to:

    • Participating in mobilization and demobilization of equipment.
    • Deploying or retracting lay flat hose, running transfer pumps, operate machinery, and essential equipment for Wildfire Water Solutions operations.
    • Observing machine operations, gauges, and adjusting controls to maintain specified requirements.
    • Aligning and directing operators to complete mission.
    • Setting and servicing pumps and generators on site.
    • Following all safety procedures and using proper PPE as required.
    • Communicating with other workers, using signals, radios, and telephones.
    • Using common hand and power tools, such as hammers, shovels, Pulaski’s, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
    • Operating pickup trucks with or without trailers to transport equipment, personal, and complete assigned mission.
    • Maintain proper housecleaning in work area, trucks, and equipment.
    • Ensure machinery, equipment, and tools are greased, cleaned and maintained.
    • Successfully complete training including but not limited to wildland fire certifications, safety, DOT, and MSPA
    • Must enjoy camping and viewing the priceless sites of our nation’s forests.
    • Must be able to dispatch within two hours and travel for long periods of time.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience working in Wildland Fire Industry.
    • Experience working with heavy equipment.
    • Physically Fit and determined to make a difference.

    Note:

    Working conditions require extensive travel and long hours of arduous physical activity (walking, climbing, lifting, pulling and frequently carrying objects weighing 50 up to 100 pounds or more) in difficult terrain and in all types of weather with exposure to various hazards including, but not limited to poison oak, bees, smoke, snakes, steep terrain, noise, heat, dust, burning and/or falling materials and other hazards. The pace of work typically is set by the emergency situation and various shifts including nights, weekends, holidays and long hours with short notice will be required. Assignments to emergency incidents may require being away for extended periods of time with accommodations involving tents and sleeping bags at fire camp. Hotels may be provided when available.

    Pay: $26.48 - $45.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 – 110 per week
