Please refer to our website at putnamplastics.com/about/career-opportunities for more information.3rd Shift Extrusion Operator Level 1 Trainee, this position is an individual who is being trained to operate and maintain various extrusion machines for medical and non-medical extruding tubing and ancillary equipment. Includes the ability to adhere to manufacturing processes including testing, quality and documenting to ensure product meets specified criteria contained in the work orders or specifications.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Learn how to set up/ tear down, operates, monitors and clean and maintain extrusion machines and other auxiliary equipment. Evaluates product/process and makes necessary adjustments to process to optimize quality and output. This will include perform line clearance actives to maintain product integrity.
- Trained to monitor and troubleshoot lines, product and operating equipment including the dries.
- Trained to perform moisture analysis on raw material and ensure quality of extruded product by performing quality inspections using a variety of measurement equipment, including but not limited to: Pin gages, Laser Micrometers, Verniers and Video Microscopes.
- Complete documents in a timely, accurate and neat manner. Including handwriting and data entry, satisfies documentation, labeling and inspections.
- Monitor material, supply levels and communicate if re-order is required. Balances inventory and returns unused material upon completion of each work order.
Quality:- Perform quality inspections/checks per quality control plan/ blueprint/work order.
- Attention to detail.
- Must be able to complete multiple and repetitive task and be committed to accuracy and quality.
Safety:- Works in a safety conscious manner. Ensures equipment is in working order.
- Adheres to safety requirements/practices/procedures as required, including required PPE/Clothing.
- Respect and follow workplace safety rules including, but not limited to, proper handling practices of chemicals per procedures, maintaining safe work practices, follow LOTO and HAZMAT polices, refer to SDS when applicable, and apply information found to the task at hand.
Required Qualification:- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to read/write/understand English.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals as well as measure in English and metric measurements.
- Mechanical aptitude to operate and troubleshoot machinery.
- Ability to effectively use and/or learn Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:- 1-2 years of related extrusion experience.
- Previous experience with ISO, FDA and cGMP.
Physical Requirements:- Must possess fine hand motor skills to handle small manufacturing tools, QC tools and fine product.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Required to stand for majority of an 8-hour work shift and lift/push/pull up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout work shift. This includes walking upstairs carrying 50lbs bags several times a shift.
