Job Overview:

Retina Consultants of Florida is a Retina Practice who strives to provide excellent customer service at each visit. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting our ophthalmologist in providing quality eye care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include working up patients (checking visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and administering eye drops), conducting various diagnostic tests (OCT, fundus photography, and retinal angiography), preparing patients for examinations, and providing support during procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ophthalmology and possess excellent patient care skills.

Responsibilities:

• Having a POSITIVE and FRIENDLY ATTITUDE.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients in person and on the phone.
• Work up patients- check vision, check intraocular pressure, administer eye drops.
• Obtain medical history and document in electronic medical record.
• Having an ability to multitask and solve problems
• Assist patients in the office.
• Conduct clinical photography, ie OCT, fundus photography, and retinal angiography.
• Having good customer service skills.
• Assist with check in, check out, answering phones, communicate with other medical offices or medical insurance companies, appointment or surgery scheduling when necessary.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Other duties as required.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS: * A strong emphasis on customer service.

• An outstanding work ethic, responsible and self-motivated.
• Outstanding ability to communicate at all levels - with patients and physicians.
• Fluent in English.
• Fluent in Spanish or Haitian Creole is a plus.
• Effective handling of sensitive issues.
• Experience with medical scheduling software. EMR knowledge a plus.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding required.
• Understanding of insurance billing helpful.
• A minimum of 2 years of front office or clinical ophthalmology experience

This is a full-time position. Compensation commensurate with experience. Retina Consultants of Florida is a drug-free, smoke-free environment.
