Ophthalmic Technician provides technical services to assigned ophthalmic patients and assists ophthalmologists or optometrists in the examination and treatment of eye disorders. Takes patient history, conducts visual acuity screenings, and performs various technical procedures, including refractometry, tonometry, lensometry, and keratometry. Being an Ophthalmic Technician prepares patients for exams and procedures. Operates, maintains, and sanitizes ophthalmic equipment and instruments. Additionally, Ophthalmic Technician may assist physicians in performing minor surgical and laser procedures. May dispense contact lenses. Typically requires an associate degree. May require Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA). May require Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT). Typically reports to a manager. COA with 5 years managing an Ophthalmology Clinic or Site. Our Southern Region has two sites you will manage. One site in Orange and one in Branford. There is mileage opportunity when traveling from one site to the other. Reliable transportation for traveling between offices is required.

Leadership in our organization requires leading by example, and the work ethic you bring should be exemplary. You will be working very closely with the clinical manager as well as assisting in the day to day and development of office team leadership and technical staff.
