Hood Industries, Inc is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for our Beaumont, Mississippi plywood facility. This is a greenfield site that will employ up to 250 employees. This position will supervise the maintenance staff and coordinate department activities within the mill, diagnose equipment failures, and oversee the repair of problems as they arise. They will coordinate all activities in the electrical department regarding preventative and predictive maintenance, installations, and modifications, while ensuring all equipment is maintained to safely maximize uptime, quality, and productivity. The Maintenance Supervisor sets the example of safety, excellence, and efficiency for the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion a culture of reliability within the maintenance department by fostering a data-driven approach to decision making and encouraging a focus on proactive maintenance strategies.
- Supervise and coach maintenance team to ensure quality operational repairs and preventative maintenance services; develop staff and self to ensure professional growth.
- Schedule and assign all tasks required to meet the preventative/predictive maintenance needs of the facility.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and critical spares according to site business plan and engage with key suppliers to optimize cost savings opportunities for the department.
- Ensure the safety of all employees and contractors. Supporting corporate safety programs, developing SOPs, identifying, and eliminating hazards, and enforcing all safety policies.
- Communicates regularly with team and management to ensure good two-way communication concerning mechanical maintenance issues.
- Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement through root cause analysis.
- Understands and remains aware of monthly, weekly, and daily numbers regarding efficiency, productivity, downtime, quality, and safety.
- Implements projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
- Leads safety, health, and environmental policies and practices within team. Responds to and leads repair and modification requests from the Safety Committee and/or EH&S Manager.
- Maintains all maintenance related compliance documentation.
- May also have additional responsibilities related to the operations of the plant, as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications:
- 5 years related maintenance experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
- 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Associate degree or vocational certification is a plus.
- Willing and able to work a flexible schedule that could include some holidays or weekends as needed.
Preferred Requirements/Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in working in wood products.
