Organizational Development Director directs the design, planning, and implementation of corporate organizational development programs, policies, and procedures. Approves change management initiatives and suggests enhancements to existing programs. Being an Organizational Development Director oversees the development of programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Reviews key performance metrics to enable accurate and valid measurement of workforce performance and to identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Director proposes changes to organizational structure to leverage talent and provide development opportunities to key leaders in the organization. Develops systematic collection and evaluation of performance metrics. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Organizational Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function.   • The Organization Development (OD) Manager is responsible for leading a team to ensure all initiatives are accomplished efficiently and effectively to support organizational needs. Partners with stakeholders to determine causes for performance gaps and identifies developmental solutions to improve organizational effectiveness. Assists the OE team with strategic planning to guide them from their current state to a desired state. Supervises plans, and monitors performance standards for the team. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Organizational Effectiveness & Talent Programs, this role will be responsible for understanding desired goals (at the organization and department level) assessing the gap in talent needs, implementing evidenced-based interventions, and measuring the impact to ensure sustained improvement. Coordinates efforts with internal and external partners and entities to achieve desired objectives on time. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position meet the criteria for exempt status.

    How You'll Make an Impact:

    • Serve as a trusted thought partner and collaborates closely with Strategic HR Partners, COEs, and leaders to develop and execute the talent strategy and supporting programs and initiatives while ensuing alignment with key business drivers.
    • Proactively identify organization development needs, and work with Strategic HR partners and other stakeholders to design solutions to address gaps and opportunities. Leverages other Centers of Expertise partnerships and their offerings such as Learning and Leadership Development, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, etc. to enable an integrated approach for creating an environment for talent to thrive and grow.
    • Elevate the use of data analytics and insights to advance talent strategy agenda.
    • Launch, analyze, and iterate on people systems and talent practices that scales and improves our culture, inclusive of performance management and talent planning.
    • Curate strategic workforce planning efforts across the organization.
    • Take a lead role and provide support and guidance on employment engagement survey design, deployment, and action planning. Partner with other departments for an integrated approach for employee pulsing and listening strategies.
    • Administer climate surveys and provide recommendations to achieve expected outcomes.
    • Provide guidance and support on transformation efforts. Participate on Change Leadership Team for strategic efforts.
    • Partner with Strategic HR Business Partners to align the HR strategy to the business.

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organization Development or related field.
    • Master’s degree preferred.

    Experience

    • At least five (5) years of relevant industry and/or consulting experience
    • Two (2) years of supervisory or lead experience.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
    • Expertise designing employee programs and developing action plans
    • Ability to manage multiple projects

    Benefits Overview

    UT Health San Antonio offers an excellent benefits package for its employees. Employees who work at least 20 hours a week, with an appointment of at least 4.5 months, are eligible for benefits.

    Medical- UT SELECT Medical insurance is offered free for employees and administered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas. Family members can be added to the plan through payroll deduction. Employees and their dependents can also receive discounted copays and coinsurance when using UT Health Physicians, a network of 800 premier physicians including more than 100 specialists.

    Dental- Three dental insurance plan options are available for employees and their families through Delta Dental Insurance Company, two PPOs and one dental HMO plan. Both PPO plans allow employees to choose any licensed dentist.

    Vision- Fully insured Vision Care benefits are offered by Superior Vision Services. Two vision plan options that offer either standard or enhanced vision benefits. Life Employees receive $40,000 of group term life insurance and $40,000 of basic accidental death and dismemberment insurance for free, with options to purchase additional employee and dependent coverage for both at group rates.

    Retirement- Employees are eligible for either the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) or the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP). TRS is a defined benefit retirement plan which UT Health matches employee contributions. ORP is for eligible faculty staff employees. Voluntary retirement programs are also available to invest before- or after-tax dollars with the choice of five quality retirement plan providers.

    Time Off- A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options:

    Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.

    Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.

    Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment.

    Holidays: 12 set paid holidays each year plus three floating holidays, which can be used anytime during the fiscal year.

    FSAs- Employees can enroll in flexible spending accounts (FSAs) to set aside money from earnings before taxes for qualifying dependent day care expenses or out-of-pocket health care expenses.
