Organizational Development Director directs the design, planning, and implementation of corporate organizational development programs, policies, and procedures. Approves change management initiatives and suggests enhancements to existing programs. Being an Organizational Development Director oversees the development of programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Reviews key performance metrics to enable accurate and valid measurement of workforce performance and to identify areas for improvement. Responsibilities of Director of Development
- Design and implement our major gifts' program, direct mail appeals, holiday campaigns, planned giving
- Expand our endowment, and current fundraising activities
- Manage and cultivate relationships with existing major gift donors and identify new donors
- Clearly communicate our organization’s mission
- Assist the board and other staff with their solicitations (provide portfolio development support, strategic counsel and help with donor communications)
- Secure major gifts at $5,000 minimum level with the goal of raising $100,000 in new gifts annually
- Focus approximately eighty percent of your time on fundraising activities for major gifts
- Manage systems and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects using Salesforce donor database and wealth screening tools
- Manage existing portfolio 1500 donors and prospects
- Help donors accomplish their philanthropic goals by maintaining a strong relationship with the organization
- Work with the organization to set goals and align fund raising efforts
- Fully acknowledge donors both individually and publicly
- Establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituencies
Job requirements
- Excellent writing and speaking skills
- Ability to energize a team, persuade prospects and persevere to the end
- At least 6 years of not-for-profit fundraising experience with a proven ability to secure individual and major gifts and meet objectives
- An understanding of the special needs community and an ability to empathize with family members, care givers
- Track record of successful face-to-face major gift solicitations
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituencies
