BASIC FUNCTION:
The Outpatient Administrative Coordinator is responsible for all clinical and case management support duties associated with the admission, treatment and discharge of patients who are receiving outpatient services. The Outpatient Administrative Coordinator will support the Outpatient Services Department in all office management tasks and management of the outpatient milieu and serve as the Step-Down Navigator for all referrals to Outpatient Programming from the Inpatient Units
Responsible for managing all utilization management activities from admission through discharge to final disposition of case, including appeals in accordance with hospital Utilization Review Plan for all patients enrolled in Outpatient Services. Must also be able to interact cooperatively with other PIW staff as well as physicians, outside referral sources and client collaterals for case management purposes.
