DNV is looking for a candidate to join an energy efficiency program delivery team as an Outreach Specialist for Custom Projects.
This position will be based in our Portland, ME office.
What You’ll Do
- Engage with customers and contractors to drive program participation while answering questions regarding energy-savings opportunities, program services and offerings
- Collaborate with the Delivery team and other colleagues, sharing knowledge and ideas in support of innovation and customer success
- Work with engineering team to develop and perform preliminary cost-effective and feasibility analysis for program eligibility
- Foster relationships across various industries to maximize energy efficiency project implementation and sustain a robust pipeline to meet and exceed program participation goals
- Promote energy efficiency opportunities through outreach activities including emails, phone calls, and site visits
- Assist with developing program outreach strategy including customer and contractor recruitment
- Lead and/or support customer/contractor meetings and attend and participate in business networking, association and industry events
- Provide support for facility site walk throughs to identify energy efficiency opportunities and/or to verify the installation of energy efficient equipment as needed
- Work with facilities to gather and organize relevant information for application package development
- Support other sales and business development activities as required, in support of program strategies and goals
- Provide project management support and regular reporting

What is Required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Sales, Business Management, Marketing, or related field highly preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in similar sales or business development position, with professional experience working with sales/outreach strategies to achieve growth goals
- Experience working with energy efficiency or energy efficient products with a utility, government, non-profit, or public agency is preferred
- Proven experience successfully meeting program goals, such as KPIs
- Proven track record of translating technical messages for diverse audiences
- Strong English communication skills (both written & verbal)
- Intermediate Excel skills including, pivot tables, simple look ups and graphing, as well as intermediate knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint
- Must live in the State of Maine and willing to travel throughout the state of Maine
