Responsible for insuring that assigned building(s) are kept clean and sanitary. Typical work hours for this position will be 5:00 am – 2:00 pm. Those hours can be adjusted depending upon the time of year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
A. Assure assigned buildings are kept clean and sanitary by performing the following activities:
1. Maintain the interior of the assigned buildings by:
a. Dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, markerboards, mirrors, and fixtures;
b. Washing windows, counters, walls, ceilings, and woodwork;
c. Scrubbing, waxing, and buffing floors;
d. Cleaning and vacuuming carpeting, furniture and drapes;
e. Resupplying rest rooms.
2. Maintain building accessibility and appearance by:
a. Picking up papers and trash, indoors and out;
3. Remove trash by:
a. Emptying trash containers;
b. Transporting materials to disposal area.
4. Keep cleaning equipment operational by:
a. Following manufacturer's operating and care guidelines;
b. Reporting needed repairs to the Director of Facilities.
5. Perform minor equipment and building repairs by following manufacturer's instructions and maintenance procedures. Report additional equipment and building repair needs to the Director of Facilities.
6. Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment inventory by:
a. Checking stock to determine inventory level;
b. Anticipating and reporting needed supplies.
7. If assigned laundry, keep athletic uniforms clean and sanitized:
a. Pre-treat stains
b. Wash and dry uniforms, towels, etc.
c. Dry and fold uniforms, towels, etc.
B. Maintain a safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
C. Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in custodial, maintenance, or cleaning related fields. Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work without close supervision.
Other
Driver's license and clean driving record required. Must have remedial skills on the computer to read and follow directives that come through email. Must use the College’s Paycom payroll system to log work hours, request leave, check paycheck stubs, etc. Should have a service oriented and positive attitude toward the students, faculty, and community people who interact with the College.
