Package Design Manager leads the planning, design, and creation of packaging artwork for an organization. Utilizes graphic arts design techniques and tools to create compelling package designs that reflect the organization's branding and marketing objectives. Being a Package Design Manager incorporates industry practices and any regulatory requirements into package designs. Ensures that design and branding standards are utilized consistently for all packaging. Additionally, Package Design Manager collaborates with production, marketing, vendors, and other stakeholders to deliver designs that meet all requirements and adhere to the budget. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in industrial design, art, graphic design or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Package Design Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Responsibilities:
Inspects and receives University packages and incoming freight deliveries at the Facilities Management Receiving dock. Records all deliveries electronically in daily receiving log. Organizes packages for expedient delivery to campus offices. Coordinates large deliveries with campus office personnel. Delivers packages and freight, using necessary equipment such as dollies, pallet jack, forklift, and/or trailers. Assists with mail delivery. Keeps dock/warehouse in a neat and functional manner. Assists with recycling efforts, including but not limited to baling cardboard, transporting scrap metal, readying other materials for disposal. Assists in warehouse and other areas as needed and time permits.
Qualifications:
Must have a valid MS drivers license and be able to safely operate large van and forklift and pull trailer. Must have good communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone, and have good organizational skills and time-management skills. Must be able to lift packages when necessary, have basic computer skills, and be able to read and write.Ability to read and write.
High School diploma or GED.
