Packaging Machine Operator jobs in Salem, OR
Packaging Machine Operator sets up and operates a packaging machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Fills, secures, and labels containers according to company and/or customer specifications. Being a Packaging Machine Operator verifies goods packaged against package invoices. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Additionally, Packaging Machine Operator adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Documents inventory number and weight, and organizes packages. May make minor repairs to packaging equipment as needed. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Packaging Machine Operator works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Primary Purpose
As an integral part of our Shipping team, you will be responsible to complete the delivery to our customer. The position manages the daily shipping and distribution operations, ensuring completed orders are shipped and delivered promptly. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Inspect orders to ensure the product meets customer requirements.
- Properly package and down stack parts and products to protect from damage.
- Prepare accurate paperwork for shipment, and resolve issues regarding shipped orders.
- Ability to operate forklift and pallet jack safely.
- Ability to build pallets, crates, and other materials to meet customer shipping requirements.
- Ability to work as a team member and maintain working relationships with transportation representatives, vendors, and suppliers.
- Able to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from coworkers, department leads, and supervisors.
- Comply with all ISO and GK company quality standards.
