Packaging Machine Operator sets up and operates a packaging machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Fills, secures, and labels containers according to company and/or customer specifications. Being a Packaging Machine Operator verifies goods packaged against package invoices. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Additionally, Packaging Machine Operator adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Documents inventory number and weight, and organizes packages. May make minor repairs to packaging equipment as needed. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Packaging Machine Operator works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Essential Functions:
Set up, load, and unload, corrugated manufacturing machines based on production requirements.
Operate corrugated machinery to produce materials according to specified standards.
Monitor machine performance and adjust as needed to ensure quality output.
Conduct regular quality checks on produced materials to ensure they meet defined standards.
Identify and address any defects or issues in the production process.
Report and address any mechanical issues or malfunctions promptly.
Work closely with other machine operators, production supervisors, and maintenance technicians.
Communicate effectively to ensure a smooth production workflow.
Maintain accurate production records, including machine settings, output quantities, and quality control data.
Complete the required documentation for each production run.
Education / Physical / Requirements
At least 18 years of age.
1-3 years of experience in corrugated machinery operations
Lift up to 25 lbs. alone and up to 50 lbs. assisted.
Position requires repetitive motion of the hands and wrists.
Proven experience as a machine operator in a corrugated manufacturing setting.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
Proficient in machine operation, including setup and adjustment of corrugated manufacturing machinery.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
