Anderson Hay & Grain in Ellensburg, WA is seeking an on-site Packaging Supervisor to join their team. This position will manage production processing activities in an efficient manner while ensuring the right quality and packaging is loaded in containers to meet the shipping schedules.
Job Functions
- Manage, train, and develop production employees.
- Coordinate production schedules with other press supervisors, press operators and production crews.
- Ensures that product loaded in the container matches the order's grade, packaging, and selected stacks.
- Timely completion of accurate compressor slips (stacks numbers and bale counts). Timely follow-up on compressor slip questions.
- Manage labor cost within budget and verification of time cards.
- Safety - Daily Shift meetings and notes, monthly safety meetings and notes, forklift drivers have gone through check off sheet and certified yard goat drivers have gone through check of sheet and certified.
- Support plant product inventory (hay material).
- Process month end reports.
- File original paperwork into proper files.
- Any other duties assigned by supervisor.
- High degree of accuracy with data entry
- Proficient with MS Office: emphasis on Excel
- Able to do moderate mathematical calculations
- Able to work 45 hours per week
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish
- Previous agricultural/manufacturing experience
- Able to work in a close team environment
- Must be able to walk frequently. (50%)
- Must be able to occasionally stand. (25%)
- Must be able to occasionally sit. (25%)
- Must be able to crawl, and able to drive a forklift/vehicle from time to time. (<2%)
- Must be able to occasionally climb stairs and ladders. (15-30%)
- Must be able to make quick movements of arms and legs and able to sprint for short distances. (<2%)
- Must be able to lift on average 50 lbs. (20-30%) and occasionally up to 100 lbs. (10-20%) from ground level to waist/chest level.
- Must be able to occasionally carry 50 – 100 lbs. 3 – 20 feet at waist/chest level. (10-30%)
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls. (>50%)
