Being a Paralegal drafts and edits legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, motions, and contracts. Conducts fact-finding, data collection, and analysis used to prepare statements and arguments. Additionally, Paralegal assists attorneys with depositions, interviews, discovery, and investigations. Manages, organizes, and archives documents with software tools and technology. Applies specialized legal terminology appropriately in documents. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires Paralegal Certification. Typically reports to an attorney. The Paralegal work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. To be a Paralegal typically requires 4 -7 years of related experience. Full-time Paralegal position at UCHealth
Performs paralegal functions in support of assigned attorneys and staff.
Work Schedule: Full Time Days, Monday-Friday, on-site position at Peoria Administrative offices
Responsibilities:
Reviews, analyzes, and prepares documents, including correspondence, regulatory/compliance documents, contracts, reports, pleadings, and discovery materials.
Performs legal research using print and digital sources to identify issues, determine supporting/contrasting legal authority, and arrive at legal conclusions/recommendations.
Communicates with internal and external contacts to provide case coordination, to gather and provide information, and to manage deadlines and appointments/appearances.
Implements, develops, and/or maintains departmental databases, including databases for forms, contracts, compliance, research, and billing.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
The pay range for this position is: $25.80 - $38.70 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
